Robert Gammal – Quecksilber the Strange Story of Dental Amalgam
Quecksilber…This dynamic 58 minute documentary, produced by Dr. Robert Gammal, was made for the lay person but is fully referenced, and appropriate for persons at all levels of knowledge. It shows, visually and informatively, how no amount of mercury is safe in the body. The use of mercury-releasing dental amalgam has been supported by the dental industry for over 150 years without any references to support their claims of safety. Mercury absorption from dental amalgam is at least 10 times greater than all other sources combined including seafood. There is NO ‘safe’ level of mercury vapour. Mercury leaching from amalgam fillings has serious consequences for human health. Why does the dental profession continue to deny that mercury from amalgam is a danger? How does this mercury affect your health? Although the dental associations proclaim its safety, there are other official positions such as that of the World Health Organisation that clearly describe its danger. On 7 January 2003, the Superior Court in San Francisco approved the warnings on dental amalgam mercury that are required under California’s Proposition 65; “Warning on dental amalgam, used in many dental fillings, causes exposure to mercury, a chemical known to the state of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm.” Mercury is the THIRD most toxic substance known to science after Arsenic and Lead.
